Welcome to Self Discovery Hub

Hey there, you are welcome to Self Discovery Hub, and to my very first post.

First of all, about me:

My name is Durotoye Temitope and this is officially my personal blog. The first thing you should know about me is that I love God… yeah, i do.. I love Him so much actually. I also love people, particularly helping them see the best in themselves regardless of circumstances surrounding them.

I love writing, speaking, teaching, learning new stuffs, meeting people.

Not to forget, I am a Pastor’s son… lol… kinda had to mention that because it will be important in the posts that will be following this.

What is Self Discovery Hub?

One of the most difficult questions i have been ever asked is, Who are you? or tell me about yourself. I am usually asked this in interviews or when meeting new friends, and i always start up confused. I always start with my name and what follows is uncertainty.

I was still able to achieve quite a few things despite this uncertainty. Remember i told you i am a Pastor’s child; so i grew up as a responsible christian with responsibilities and expectations already on my shoulders. Those responsibilities indirectly became the lens through which i saw myself, hence, my identity or who I was was a function of what people thought of me and what they expected from me.

My apologies for the starting story, i felt it necessary to start this way because, this is where it all began for me.

Self Discovery Hub is my personal journal where I share my experiences on my journey to actual self discovery. I will also be sharing other people’s stories as well.

The purpose is to reach out to other amazing young people out there that still haven’t discovered how amazing they are due to challenges at home, surrounding circumstances, academic challenges, responsibilities and expectations. Stirring up a desire not to settle for less than themselves but to be the best version of themselves.

This didn’t happen to me until i started asking myself some really important questions like, “Who am I?”

I hope you get to ask yourself this same question and find answers following this blog.

Thank you so much for your time.

What do you think?
