Reset: The Power of Starting Over

It’s been a long time since I last wrote. And to be honest, I have been having a hard time writing again.

This is just one of the many things I love which I have not been doing due to “being busy”, and it really hurts thinking about it.

But this is what a new month or a day is really about. The clock returns to 00:00; we get the chance to start over. It may not be the same day – of course, you cannot repeat the same day, except you are Kid Danger. But you are given similar opportunities that you were given the previous day. Another chance to do all that you are supposed to do, and be all that you are meant to be.

The day may be lost, but the opportunity remains as long as you are living. Many of us give up on certain things because we think the time for that has gone. So we allow our dreams to end with the previous day.

While it is true that certain dreams and aspirations are time-bound, I have also come to see that we can redeem the time we thought was lost. The dates may change, months, years, but time is simply reset. And every day, every week, every month, every new year, we get the opportunity to reset and start again.

Note: Doing the same thing everyday will not give you a different result, talk less of a better result. At best, it gives you a routine.

When the time resets and you choose to reset alongside, you are not starting over as the same person that ended the previous day. Read that over and over again until it registers.

Everyday that passes gifts us invaluable experience that can be used to our advantage when the time resets. Do not for once think that you are the same person you were yesterday, last week, last month, last year. Changes have occured physiological, biology, emotionally, socially, literally every aspect of your life.

With this gift of “progressive growth-change”, you can make far better decisions compared to the day before, the week before, or the year before.

Perhaps it is time for you to take a break right now, and reset. Reset your mind, go back to the beginning and start over. It may sound intimidating, like time is not on your side. However, what time really gives you is multiple chances and opportunities to be better and do things better. Do not take those opportunities for granted.

You can be better
You can do better.

What do you think?

  1. Wow! This is a whole new perspective👏🏽👏🏽 It’s amazing how we’re often stuck up either in the past (what we did or didn’t do) or in our thoughts of the future (what it could be like…) but time (every second, minute, hour; now) is very crucial. As often as we miss this, time still resets at dawn, a chance to rewrite or keep writing our legacy. Amazing. Thanks for this!
